WOD: Front Squats

Front Squat 3-3-3-3-3-3-3 reps

Post loads to comments.

The FS(front squat) is a great lift that is not practiced enough. Learning how to do this correctly will increase productivity in many of the other movements and lifts that we do. Namely you’ll see gains in your back squat, clean/jerk, and thrusters. Here is a great article on how and why we front squat. If this is your first time, go light. Start with just the bar, get comfortable with the bar sitting “high” on your rack position. It will basically be against your adams apple (if you have one). Usually the first question is, “my wrist can’t bend that much”. Don’t worry, most can’t, so simply let the bar roll off your palms onto a couple fingers. Here is a good video on how to get started. Remember, elbows high, back tight, hips below the knees (i.e. “hamstrings parallel) at the bottom.

Article: “Fat loss and fasted workouts, the hormones speak“, Brad Pilon from “Eat Stop, Eat”

This is a very intersting article on “how food and insulin relate. It has some interesting observations when concerning protein and carbohydrate intake.” Worth reading and considering. We have been told to eat and exercise one way in our lives, maybe it’s time for a change?
